How to Live Daily Life Beyond the Confines of Time

As the mind begins to be seen as not real, more like an old filter through which we see life, time begins to feel unreal too – another construct of the mind dissolving.

At this stage, however the pattern of thinking often remains, saying, “I need to work hard and make every moment count because I’m losing time to be alive.” It’s valuable to see this as the mind’s remaining attempt to impose itself upon the deeper truth of timelessness. It’s a habit, an echo of the mind getting weaker and weaker. A habit of commentary upon the isness of now.

However, from the vantage point of the timeless Self, the heart, or infinite being, every moment does indeed take on extra value with a sense of immense gratitude for being alive; of tasting, breathing, loving, feeling emotions, of experiencing whatever is – in this moment.

So every moment becomes richer, but not from fear because of a seeming lack of time, but rather because of the overflowing gratitude for existing, for pure awareness of being alive. Amidst the relishing of each moment, there simultaneously grows a subtle, yet life-changing, sense of our eternal nature even amidst our daily human existence.

All this said, it’s essential to understand that whatever does appear in the now needs to be unconditionally allowed. With this realization of timelessness may come fear or terror, sadness at the loss of familiar beliefs, immense relief, or disorientation because the old mind maps are disappearing.

Our work is to unconditionally let these feelings be, knowing them as momentary expressions of the deeper reality of timelessness. Waves of the ocean must be fully allowed as they rise and are swallowed back into their source, the infinite ocean of you, absolute consciousness itself.

In this way, time can be functional, while also seen as a facade against the grandeur of timeless being. So today you are walking the bridge, this transition from time being real to seeing it for its use, but also its non-reality. And thus knowing more deeply your own ultimate reality in which time, humanness, and feelings can freely appear and disappear against the backdrop of the infinite you. How lucky we are to experience life fully while knowing the boundless womb from which it arises; the limitless ocean of being – your essential nature.
