What is Freedom? Religious Spiritual Personal
Understanding what freedom means to you can be useful. As I see many souls honoring this holiday weekend this question arises. Whether you perceive freedom as escaping slavery in Egypt, being forgiven your “sins”, potentially finding healing of your childhood traumas, seeing the illusion of Maya, or dying a peaceful death in hospice, may each of us discover that the peace and rest that we finally seek can be found in this very moment looking from those eyes at these words, IF we, just for a moment, see past our stories of the past and future and rest our tired chariot here and now beside the endless road of seeking. Perhaps lower those shoulders, take a loving gentle breath, (seriously, why not do it now as you read this) and nourish those parched lips by drinking from the still pond of peace that is always lovingly here – as your deepest nature.
